Wound up in Wexford

Lunch with the family

We're home after a lovely short break at Rutland Water.

The weather wasn't particularly good, but what do you really expect in November.  We had a leisurely breakfast, and then walked around Barnsdale Gardens in the mist for a couple of hours, before being joined for lunch in their tearooms by my daughters and their other halves.  We were able to watch some old Geoff Hamilton DVDs on the TV in the corner whilst we ate - Walter found it more interesting than my attempt at a group photo.

By the time we had finished eating the heavens had opened, putting paid to any more garden viewing, at least as far as I was concerned.  Walter did suggest that we had a 'brolly in the car - I said he was welcome to use it, but I would sit in the dry and read.  So we popped into the shop, managed to resist purchasing anything, and drove home.  I think we will sit in front of a cosy fire and maybe watch a film this evening.

En route home we passed "Rutland Water Golf Course" and I briefly wondered about the strange game of "water golf"!  I blame Walter's influence.

Note the strange outcrop on Walter's upper lip - if you feel moved to donate, this is his page
