Frozen Moment
And Sunday comes around. I try not to do anything that makes a noise on a Sunday, mainly out of respect for people's beliefs and not to disturb people who are having a well-earned break at the end of the week. Got up early and started a pot roast in the slow cooker (delicious, by the way), started a fire in the stove and updated the number plates on 3M's car (they needed the GB display as we're off to Belgium pretty soon). After all that did the afternoon feed for Peggy and Aoife.
This is all well and good but I really want to get the old byre sorted. I actually spent a lot of time clearing up the areas but then I fell into the trap of "where shall we put this?", "in the byre" followed by the fatal words "for the moment". Obviously I've managed to bend time because moments have stretched to months. I was actually using this area as a temporary workshop but then the old doors from the house were put in there (by me) "for the moment". Then there was all the wood that had been stripped out of the house during work that could be used again being stacked there "for the moment". The wood in the barrel has got to be cut in half so I can burn it in the brazier (I wouldn't take this wood into the house to burn) but I've left it there "for the moment". There's also lots of really old tools that belonged to the original owner that I want to keep but I need to clean up. There's old sheep troughs and a scythe hanging from the ceiling that can be seen in the picture that I also want to restore. But where can I put them "for the moment"?
And before I can think of all those I've got to decorate the hall. Don't wanna decorate the hall. Boring.
Dinner was nice, though.
