Birthday Yala

The 32nd birthday was action packed and very memorable! It helped to comfort the trauma of the passing years.

It started before dawn with a safari to the famous Yala National Park where we saw a multitude of wildlife, including elephants and a leopard sleeping in a tree. As yesterday, more peacocks than you could shake a stick at.

We then headed for the coast to have the evening by the beach. After a sophisticated lunch on the floor of Matara bus station, we made it to the beachside village of Mirissa and passed a lovely evening chilling in some bars.

On the hilarious walk home Adam was spooked by noises in the lagoon we had to go past. Quote 'you're more of a substantial meal. I'll tell your story.' Well, the first 32 years have been interesting enough, here's to the next 32 (if I can avoid being thrown into the water by Adam - and of course he's easy to overpower).
