World's End

We had a sunrise walk through some beautiful countryside in Horton Plains National Park, reaching a staggering view of the valley below at the World's End viewpoint.

Then we descended to a lower altitude, but still to Sri Lanka's highest train station, for an incredibly scenic train ride to our next destination. Train travel in Sri Lanka is very picturesque, through woodland, upland villages and across narrow escarpments. Sitting in the train doorway next to a bag of carrots, watching the world go by, was excellent.
