The landlady had a christening to go to so could we possibly, if we'd be so kind, be down for breakfast by 8.45? I mean breakfast is 8 til 9 anyway so it's really just 15 minutes but it would be really helpful and very much appreciated if we could be down for 8.45. Please.

No bother and best to be up anyway what with there being bike shops in Edinburgh. But it turned out Evans didn't open until 10 so there was some hanging around in the totally up its own arse Loudouns "cafe". And Evans was more useless than expected.

Home to fix the brakes. Aye, brakes that work. That's novel.
