Bird Symphony

.... or should that be 'Cacophony?

ok, so the cockatoo woke me at 5am, which wasn't amusing, "singing" right outside my bedroom window. I dozed in-between flights until about 7am by which time the crows and parrots and seagulls were all joining the performance. It goes something like this:

VERSE: (Sequential solos)
Cockatoo: squawk squawk squawk
Crows: screech screech
Parrots: shriek shriek
Seagulls: scream

CHORUS: (all together)
Cockatoo: squawk squawky squawk
Crows: scream screechy caw
Parrots: shriek shriek shrill shriek
Seagulls: scream swoop

DANCE (a graceful ballet performed amongst the tree tops by the Company of Parrots led by Prima Cockatoo with a chorus line of crows behind)

CHORUS: (all together)
Cockatoo: squawk squawky squawk
Crows: scream screechy caw
Parrots: shriek shriek shrill shriek
Seagulls: scream swoop

CODA: (solo)
Cockatoo: squawk squawky ..... squawk

(REPEAT)

The photo was taken during an Interlude. One of the Company of Parrots-on-Patrol who are never far from the Cockatoo making a bird-barrier against the menace of the crows. All was silence for several minutes. Getting their breath back, I suppose.

and it's cold and raining and my cold continues unabated.
