View from the breakfast table
For the first time in many years we decided to walk into town for breakfast. The decision was made owing to Susan and her mum having to go for a flu jab mid morning so we thought it a good idea to get up, go into town early and enjoy a breakfast at the Wetherspoons pub The Muggleton.
The pub has undergone a refubishment in recent weeks so we thought it would be good to try out the newly decorated and cleaned facilities. It did look considerably better although the choice of paint colours was not exactly lively but on the other hand the building was without the traditional nicotine yellow ceilings.
It was a wet walk in and a wet walk most of the way back and wet while we were enjoying our breakfasts. I made the mistake of ordering porridge and cooked breakfast at the same time so we got both together. Susan opted to eat her porridge first then breakfast, I did it the other way around - as this is the way we used to eat breakfast when I was a student - hot breakfast first, cereals second.
The afternoon was spent watching a referee again in the pouring rain. I thought it had cleared up but we were deluged by a prolonged shower for most of the first half, with my record sheet turning to papier mache very quickly. Fortunately the rain stopped for the second half and I was able to rescue the sheet and complete the recording. Meanwhile Susan was busy cleaning the house and by the time I arrived home was browsing Christmas present options on the computer.
