One, Two, Three, More...??
Just how many can Mr. Gorgeous fit in there?? More gluttonous in large. ;-)
(Mr. G is the biggest bluejay that stops by my house. He's got the prettiest feathers and such a health appearance... Hence the nickname...) :)
I set out for an action shot of a bluejay or a tufted titmouse today, as either are peanut loving birds... and peanuts are what I had for a lure bait enticement again today. The sun was rarely breaking through the clouds, so my action goals may have been lofty. But, with that thought in mind, I took my bag of peanuts down to the edge of the yard to a split rail fence that we have. The snow had built up a nice firm 4 inch ledge along the fence where I painstakingly placed one peanut at a time, protruding from the snow, all in a row. It looked like a funny little crop of peanuts growing in the snow. ;-)
Well, it didn't take long for the bluejays to find the crop. The lack of light eliminated the on-the-wing images I was looking for, but in the end Mr. G stuffing his face entertained me just as much. (You can see two... but there are several more in that neck of his. Normally, his neck is much slimmer than it appears here!)
Thank you so very much for all of the comments and kind ratings for yesterday's feather!
