Runaway
Ok, ok. I said no more baby shots.
But since I don't have a photo to go with the story today, I should be excused.
A true taxi tale.
Early this morning I got a call to go to a pick up from a house in the city. As it was busy, the booking was about 25 minutes late. The people were still there though.
Three young females got in the back seat and off we went.
On arrival at their destination, two got out to go to the house to get " money from my mum, she said would pay for the taxi. "
After a few moments, it became obvious that they had decided to runawaywithout paying, leaving their friend to carry the can.
She had no money, and after nipping down to the local police station, where no one was in residence, I contacted my office who phoned the house where they were picked up from.
At this point, as I was on the phone to the police, I discovered that the young girl that was left (abandoned) in my car was aged only 11.
The other two were only 14.
The police came and took her back home to her parents who payed the taxi. They thought she was staying with a friend, not out at party.
I am still trying to come to terms with the fact that somebody would leave a child as 'collateral' for a taxi fare.
