At the farm basket

We took a walk up the creek and lured my son to come along with the promise of a stop at the farm basket. This store is a rambling old house tucked up in the curve of the creek. The rooms all seem to have grown when needed and you often have to go up or down a step as you move from place to place. They usually have beautiful fancy candy for Christmas and Easter.... Sugar eggs with pastoral scenes and chocolate Santas from Germany.

Unfortunately the store changed hands recently and it is trending more toward wine and housewares. It looks a lot more like pottery barn than your favorite Aunt's house. Sigh.

We did get local cider and he ate a piece of pound cake. Not all is lost.

The picture is across the creek from the outdoor seating area. The stacked rocks are just a retaining wall for the trail on the other side of the creek.... So much effort and so beautiful and natural. I wish I knew who to thank.
