Drovers Day

We went into Penrith this afternoon to get a few jobs done. There was not much else to do as it was damp and dull. It turned out to be a very busy place today as it was the yearly Drovers Day Festival. Much entertainment, food and music. It is a re enactment of beasts (cattle etc) being driven into a safe stronghold in the towns centre. `these 'beasts' are life size and more than life size models of animals which are lit up. This wasn't happening until sixish so we had a trundle around Ullswater whereupon the skies cleared and we had a very pleasant view up the lake. Which one to use, so many lovely photos(though I say it myself - I think it was just that the light was stunning at the right time)
Back to Drovers Day in Penrith. It was very atmospheric and good fun and I met some very nice people and Llamas (including the young man covered in Tattoos who wanted to be my new bessy mate and kept trying to buy me a drink. (he had a long night ahead of him) I was going to use a Drovers Day picture but the above picture won through
