Success!

Took The Kid to her karate grading today. Overseen by UK head honcho Sensei Ohta, it's always an impressive event. For Lily, though, it could have been a high pressure one. She broke her wrist earlier this year, and missed out on gradings and classes.

I think in her shoes, I might have quit. Thankfully, she didn't. The reason I wanted her to go to karate lessons in the first place was to learn about tenacity, respect, hard work and the rewards that come with it. She epitomised that today. Finally - 8 months later - with not just me and her mum there, but with Nana and Rich up from Norfolk and watching on anxiously, she breezed it. Strong, tenacious, respectful. The Kid finally has her green belt. =)
