Then we had a bacon roll to recover and went gluten-free shopping to get provisions for tea and the arrival of Mrs Smith's mum and sister. Kath was looking surprisingly chipper when we picked her up this morning considering we'd had a lengthy putting- the- world- to-rights session around the kitchen table last night and then she had been hijacked into The Plough for a nightcap on the way home to her Mum.
