This morning Gina and I took the ferry from Wellington to Picton - the North Island to the South Island. On boarding the weather was cold with severely strong winds. By the time we entered the channel, once navigated by Captain Cook, it was calm and warm.

Here are two Kiwis on holiday with kayaks on board. From Picton, they will spend almost two weeks kayaking and camping along the banks of these beautiful waterways. They were very friendly and provided us with much history and information.

This afternoon we visited 3 wineries in the Marlborough area, only to return to our B&B where our hosts Janet and Ian greeted us with a nice pour of another local Pinot Noir, along with great conversation.
