Grassed up
The setting sun was just catching this grass as I came back up to the house. The bokeh in the background is from the light playing with our arbutus trees. Mrs G told me that she'd overheard a number of people discussing the lack of light on their properties, so even though we are in shade from about 4pm onwards, we should be thankful for all the sun we bask in during daylight.
This morning there was frost on the ground and our small fish pond was iced over. Winter is definitely on the way. I cleaned out our bird feeders and restocked them as I expect the birds will appreciate more readily available food as the temperatures drop.
Tonight we are off to a concert by Martin Simpson. He is a guitarist who seems to be quite eminent but is new to me. He is playing at a local venue that we went to in the summer. Then we had an alfresco dinner and then saw the show. Tonight it will be even more intimate as there's no outside seating at this time of year.
