Dark distant Longdendale view

A rotten afternoon - cold, wet and windy.

This is Longdendale famous for its line of pylons, reservoirs 5 in a line, the line of traffic on the A628 Woodhead Pass, the railway line that is no more and the line on the map (Pennine Way) Black Hill to the North, Bleaklow to the South.

Lots about it in the news this week Most interesting that there are finally plans being drawn up to remove the pylons and put the cables underground. Someone agreed that it is a beautiful valley and deserves a make over. Less attractive is the deputy PM thinking it would be a good idea to make the road wider and even busier.

Most likely - none of it will happen :-(
