Day 11 - Ascent of Gokyo Ri (5483m) - breathless

Early 5:30am start from our eco lodge in Gokyo. A relentless climb of 3 hours finally ended with a successful ascent of Gokyo Ri (5483m). The 360 degree views at the top of Everest, Cho Oyu, Cholatse and other 8000m peaks left me breathless along with the sparkling Gokyo lakes. After a celebratory snickers bar it was time to get the poles out for the painful descent.
