Decay

Toadstools, shaggy ink-cap, I think, by the Earl's Palace in Kirkwall. I could hear goldcrests in the trees but found it difficult to actually see any. They aren't common on Orkney. Their call is so high-pitched that it is one of the first birds that ageing bird-watchers (and others) lose the ability to hear.
