The Thursday evening mooch

Last week I returned to choir for the final block of sessions for this year as we rehearse for our contribution to the World AIDS Day service on 1st December at St Johns church on Timberhill in the centre of Norwich, which means I have a bit of time to kill between finishing work and rehearsal at 7pm.

Last Thursday I used that time to visit J, who had been admitted to the local hospice the day before. It was a really lovely visit and I am so glad I had that time with him because (as regular visitors to my journal will know) he died on Sunday morning.

This week I got fish and chips from the Grosvenor Fish Bar (blipped recently by Rosiecatwoman) and took them across to the Birdcage to have with a pint of Blue Moon. Followed by a mooch around a pretty quiet city centre. This is the Iron House, where if you have more money than sense you can enjoy food and drink in a very pretty environment.

We heard this evening that the funeral for J is to be held on the 28th November and the choir are taking the lead in organising a bit of a do for him after the service.
