The Kindness of Strangers

As I left the Post Office, a little old lady collapsed on the pavement in front of me. She was with her middle-aged daughter who was clearly upset.

I rushed over to help, only to be beaten by another lady who dragged the chair in this photo from the front of a shop and sat the lady down.

Soon a shop-owner rushed over with a blanket and the offer of a seat in her nice warm shop.

An off-duty policewoman pulled over and asked if we needed any help.

A care-worker living in a house nearby came out with a hot cup of tea and a plate of biscuits.

A passing paramedic - off duty again - pulled up, got out, kitted up in his gear and came over to help.

Another gentleman phoned for an ambulance.

Another lady sat at the knees of the frail old lady and comforted her and her daughter.

All for one old woman falling in the street.

The kindness of strangers....wonderful.
