Merchant of being an idiot

We went into town this afternooon to pay a visit to the ShrewsburyMuseum. We didn't get there until an hour before it closed but were assured that would be enough time...obviously it's only enough time if you don't get waylaid by an enthusiastic volunteer explaining the intricacies of a medieval bed and it's tailor-made curtains, bedspread and valance.

I d like it when museums have an interactive element and like any museum worth it's salt these days there was scope for me to look like an idiot. To be fair, the medieval merchant's hat actually had speakers in it and a description of the merchant's house at the top of Grope Lane, so it wasn't only for me to look like a fool!
