Mono Monday: Old and New

My oldest and newest sewing machines. My Singer Featherweight 221 dates from 1951, I think. That year's model was made to celebrate a century of machine sewing. The other one is my Bernina 830 (the recent version.) Each of them is special in its' own way. The Featherweight is said to have the perfect straight stitch, while the Bernina 830 can just about make dinner. I'm kidding, but it does actually thread itself--and can sew, embroider, and quilt like no other machine. Alphabets, decorative stitches, monograms, a clock and alarm, the list goes on and on.
