Big Battle at the Bait Bucket
It was very nice to spend some time with Debbi (Lifes Little Moments) today. As usual, she was charming and delightful.
She is a newly located Florida girl. We (my wife Lisa and I) went to one of her favorite new haunts...Fort Desoto Park. The fort did not disappoint.
Debbi did not come alone. She showed up with "Big Daddy", her something-to-500mm lens. She gets a good workout just carrying it around.
My favorite drama of the day was watching 6-8 snowy egrets stealing bait out of a bait bucket. Lots of raised "hackles", and a lot of posturing. So fun to watch.
The only drawback of the day? It was when we spotted an elderly, rather portly gentleman wearing a skimpy bathing suit. A passing woman hiker described it as a "banana hammock". (That was totally uncalled for.)
You would think that Deb and Lisa had never seen a Speedo before. "Look Lisa, I can see that guy's butt!" "Quick Debbi, get a picture! I want to remember this forever!"
Believe what you may about the last exchange. We did see the guy, and I have a picture on my FLICKR PAGE to prove it, along with Deb and Big Daddy, and some more birds.
A fun morning. I hope to meet up again with her (and some other Florida folks) when I come back in January.
