as if NOTHING EVER HAPPENED

After a week of not being used, my bike computer seemed to suddenly remember what it was supposed to be doing since it had had its battery replaced and started displaying normal things on its display rather than showing everything at once. Fortunately, this year's log already has several gaps so a couple of weeks of vaguely-guessed or absent numbers is not the problem it would have been last year.
