Duck Soup
This recipe for a tasty soup, a refreshing first course for a midweek dinner party in the depths of winter, is from Jamie Oliver's new book Austerity? Pukka!! which will be in the shops in time for Christmas.
Ingredients
147 mallard
38 Canada geese
1 seagull
6 geese a laying
7 swans a swimming
5 gold rings
1 river
1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
Soak the waterfowl in the river for one hour.
Pour through a strainer to remove ducks, loose feathers and supermarket trolleys.
Season with breadcrumbs and serve immediately (it really doesn't improve with keeping).
Serves 4-6 million.
Today, as you may be able to tell, is a fast day. Thoughts of food are never far away.
