November rose
Another poignant day, the last ceramic poppy being planted at the Tower, the eleventh hour of the eleventh month, and seeing live coverage of hundreds of people standing silent in Trafalgar Square.
Tears started to fall when I saw poppy petals floating in the fountains, and when this song was sung they fell even more. What a week it's been.
Wandering outdoors for some fresh air, I found that a little piece of a rose root that I'd rescued when the garden was cleared this summer had a single bloom. A lovely surprise, because it had looked as dead as a doornail back then.
