Remembrance Day
I had planned to show the poppy display on the font at the back of church to complete Sunday's set but ...
... I went into school for a Remembrance Service at 10.45am. Over 250 children from Reception to Year 6 + staff. A Year 6 boy played The Last Post on his trumpet on his own and he was great. We had a silence at 11am and the children were so still. They led poppy prayers and built up this large poppy and then they sang, and it was so powerful I was really moved! So ...
... I've posted the picture of the poppy prayers as well as the font display.
P is for Power - we pray for those in positions of power and authority.
O is for Offering - we pray for those who give themselves in service.
P is for Peace - we pray for peace and justice.
P is for Prayer - we pray that God will be with us
Y is for You and me - that we may be peacemakers.
