In our country churchyard

The grave of Edward Hardinge who died in 1914 at the age of 22 of wounds received in France. He was the heir to Baron Hardinge, Viceroy of India. He's buried next to his mother who predeceased him by six months.

Edward had been a page to King Edward VII and his sister, Diamond, went on to be a bridesmaid at the wedding of the future King George VI to Elizabeth Bowes Lyons.
