Dawn and delays

This was the only time I managed to take any photos this morning. Up with the lark to pack up and clean the house before heading south via Edinburgh to see my daughter for lunch.. she had a two hour window so I had to leave on time. The journey went mostly ok and after my stop in Edinburgh I was having a good run south.. a large Costa keeping me wide awake later in the day. Then disaster.. I had a puncture on the motorway!! It was dark.. and about 45 minutes from home. When I managed to stop on the hard shoulder I had to wait for 5 minutes to get a gap in the traffic in order to dare to get out of the car and onto the bank along the side of the road. I rang the AA.. was told I was a priority customer (single female with small dog) and that they would be there within an hour.. I waited 40 minutes.. it was a foul experience but thankfully not wet but I was frozen when the lorry arrived to lift my car from the side of the road. He took me a little further along the motorway then looped back up the motorway again to the nearest service station.. where he left me to wait for the man who would change the tyre.. 3 hours after first ringing them I walked in the door of my house.. hurrah!! The spare tyre had a 50mph limit so I decided to travel home on small roads rather than the motorway since the rain had started. It was pouring during the rest of the journey. I am still zipping with the coffee and the relief of getting home so bed will have to wait!!
