In Flanders field the poppies blow

As they will start to remove the poppies this week I had to go and see them one last time.

Previously when I have been there at 8:30 there was just me and a few others. Today the whole perimeter was ringed by lots of people taking photos.

As I stood a tear ran down my face. So many many people died.

My journey to the poppies was delayed by the Tower Bridge opening to make way for the Dutch clipper Dewalvisch. As I waited and took photos of the bridge rising I could see a woman looking down at the bridge. I couldn't work out what I was seeing. In the Evening Standard tonight was a photo of the woman that I had seen. It was an article advertising the New Glass Walkway on the Tower Bridge. Someone will blip it before I can but I will blip the view from there
