Thoughts of a Mummy

Gold!

Today's the day!

DM, R&P all had their first dance Festival today. Their dance school, Vicky-Anne Academy of Dance put them forward for the song and dance trio's.

R&P were in a trio with their friend and sang Never Smile at a Crocodile, swiftly followed by a dance to Elton John's Crocodile Rock.

DM was in a trio with two of her friends whilst singing and dancing to Part of Your World.

Our morning started with a breakfast at their friends house where we got all of the girls hair and make up done and got them all dressed. It was great teamwork by all the Mum's pulling together to get the girls looking amazing.

We then drove to Birmingham, where the festival was being held.

Fortunately as the girls were all on show one after another, we managed to get Peach, Aj, MMIL and CarCar to come and watch the routines.

We got the girls ready in the school corridors and then watched a couple of the dances, before the girls were called.

R&P's trio were called first, and as they walked towards the stage, I heard Pops say to her teacher "how did they know my name?". The girls got on the stage really well, but we noticed that R&P were on the wrong sides. Whilst I tried to get their attention to suggest they swap sides, their teacher hadn't asked them to switch; so when I did get their attention and they didn't quite grasp what I was getting at, I ended up smiling and putting my this up to them.

R&P's trio did a fantastic routine; they had fantastic big smiles, great loud voices and performed their little hearts out.

DM's trio were next; they got on the stage gracefully, had beautiful smiles and sang perfectly.

I definitely had tears in my eyes while I watched them, I knew that I would when I wished them good luck and heard my voice crackle!

They all made me beam with pride; they worked really hard and enjoyed every minute of it. And to walk away with a gold medal each, topped the experience off perfectly!

We took them home and then out for a meal. It was a fabulous day, when that I won't forget for a long time!
