Fatsia japonica
This plant provides a great architectural feature in the garden with its huge, deeply cut, glossy leaves and now, right at the tail-end of the year, it has burst into flower. What's more, these large showy flowers - each like a cluster of exploding fireworks - are providing a valuable late nectar source for wasps, which have really struggled this summer. What a brilliant plant!
