At last, but too late

The sun came out at sunset, very British but we are still in SA, however the grim weather this morning meant that the visit we made to a conservation centre where the main animals looked after were cats, was more successful. Cats of all sizes seem to sulk when it rains and these were no exception. We went on a walk with a warden called Keegan, I resisted asking if he was named after Kevin. We saw African wild cats, hiding under a bush, a Leopard looking thoroughly miserable even though there was a shelter he could have used. The warden explained they don't interfere with the animals making it easier to release them in the future. We went in an enclosure with a 4 Serval. The females just melted away but the males were so cool, just cleaning and stretching. Beautiful. The highlight was going into the cheetah enclosure and being so close to 2 cheetah that you could hear the female purr, luckily a sound which apparently means she is comfortable. A Magical moment. The rain stopped and then we decided to go up on a headland where after 15 mins or so we were able to spot a whale out at sea, at least half a mile away but a definite whale. Whilst having our dinner the sun came out just to remind us of what we had missed, but I felt we had had so much more than sun. Back to Jo'burg tomorrow then home on Thursday.
