King's Cross & The Giant Poppy, London

Day 312 of 365. Today was a day of travel up to my land of birth - Scotland. I haven't been back to my home town, Kilmarnock in Ayrshire, since I was about twelve (which trust me was a long time ago!). Me and my brother travelled up to London to meet up with my sister but , as usual, it din't run smoothly. We caught the train to Victoria and then took the tube to where we thought the Scotland bound train was going from - King's Cross (where today's picture was taken). It has had a major makeover, along with St.Pancras, and now looks stunning. Unfortunately, having finally contacted my sister, we found the train to Glasgow was actually going from Euston!
There is no polite way of saying it - Euston is a turd you can't polish. The journey up to Scotland was on one of those pendalino trains that can make you feel a bit queasy and we finally reached Glasgow just after midnight. There was then a long queue for a taxi, so we didn't reach our hotel until about 12.40 - by then we were exhausted and a bit on the grumpy side. Sleep came very easily!
