Ants in my plants!

We were out all day today and despite taking a few pictures, nothing really appealed to be posted here. It was almost dark as I began taking shots of this ornamental fig in a pot in the garden and eventually I had to use a flash. If you view this large you will see we have a problem - ants in my plants!!!!! So it looks as though the pot may need to be emptied and the compost treated to get rid of the pests before they spread to other pots and eat all the roots too! :-((
