Casty's Window

A famous artist called Casty was born here in Zuoz in the early 20th Century; he came from a family established in the village for centuries. He left to work in Paris and was a contemporary of Picasso and he specialised in the design and painting of glass windows, eventually he returned to Zuoz but continued to work. There are various examples of his work in the village buildings, this one is in one of the ancient churches. On a wet, grey day there was still enough light coming through the glass for me to take this photograph.
