On the Road @thehatchbackers

Meet Beth and Luke. Together they are the Hatchbackers.
Beth is my husband's niece and Luke is her boyfriend. They arrived from Portland, Oregon, on Friday looking shattered after a big build-up to leaving their jobs, packing up their lives and heading to Europe for a year of volunteering and WWOOF'ing it (working for bed and board on organic farms and other Eco-friendly establishments).
They left this morning on the bus at the end of our road on the first part of their journey to Skye, where they will be working in a hostel in Kyleakin for a month.
It was fantastic to have them here and feel part of the excitement of The Big Trip.
Beth was born in Scotland and spent the first seven years of her life there, but it's Luke's first time in Britain.
Despite this, he took to haggis and Tunnocks Caramel Wafers like a duck to water. Beth says that in her 18 years in the States she's been asked hundreds of times if she has eaten haggis, but hasn't yet partaken of our national dish... there's still time!
Beth and. Luke will be Vlogging (making a video diary) of their journey as the Hatchbackers as they travel through Scotland, Wales, England and over to mainland Europe.
