25 years on

This is an East German Border Guard's cap judging by the Green band. It once belonged to "Sol(dat?) Jahn". I bought it a year after the Berlin Wall fell in the Army and Navy Stores in Edinburgh. It's a bit dusty now- I need to buy a hat box or something..

I watched amazed as a 17 year old as the Wall fell- I never thought it would happen in my lifetime and I still think it's the greatest thing to happen in my lifetime. Strangely enough I also knew a man who had flown in the Berlin Airlift and two people who saw Hitler in the flesh- history is a strange thing...
