We will remember them!
Hello my friends! I am very touched today because we went to a remembrance Sunday ceremony in the village where the teacher of my art class lives. We went the cenotaph where some wreaths of poppies were laid. Different people from the village said a few words to commemorate those who had died serving their country in one of the two world wars. This followed by two minutes' silence. After this we all went to the local church where my art teacher Heath led the mass. I found it very moving. Other people from the village who I know gave different readings during the service.
The church was full of poppies and various decorations that were hand made so it was difficult for me to choose a picture for my blip today.
I chose this one because you can see this painting of soldiers who had lost various limbs and the soldiers who were in the fighting in the armed forces. People were very impressed with these paintings. Heath was very kind to put this little exhibition in the church for this special day to remember them.. It is better if you look at it in large. This is not the best picture I know. It was difficult to shoot with many people around but I would like to share this moment and touching paintings with all of you.
I was very proud to be a part of this community today. I found the service very emotional and I was privileged to be invited by Heath to this service. It was a new and unforgettable experience for me. Thanks to Heath and all the community for a lovely day.
At the end of the service everyone had a cup of tea and chat. We enjoyed looking around the church. Lucky us we had a nice sunny day.
Thank you everybody for the nice comments and stars for yesterday's blip of the poppies. I hope you had a nice Remembrance Sunday as well. Keep smiling!
