Trans Pennine Trail (TPT) Revisited
Another beautiful bike ride along the Trans Pennine Trail (TPT) - this time we were heading towards Stockport and got as far as Jacksons Boat, which is an old pub on the banks of the River Mersey. I imagine in days gone by there must have been a chap called Jackson who had a boat to carry people to and fro across the river (there is now a bridge thank goodness!). This blip is our homeward journey through Chorlton Wetlands. For anyone who knows Manchester and its suburbs it is quite remarkable to have all of this amazing nature right on the doorstep. The result of many years planning and hard work no doubt. I cannot say enough about the TPT - it is an amazing development which is open to all for cycling, horse riding, jogging, walking (with babies and/or dogs) and generally enjoying the open air.
