Berlin Wall

I received this post-card from my German friends after the fall of the Berlin-Wall in 1989.
We did not have any relatives in East-Germany, but I had a pen-friend from East-Berlin. Every x-mas I would send her a care-package with coffee, sugar, flour etc. and she would send me things from the Thuringer Wald, these were beautiful carved x-mas decorations, which I still treasure. But unfortunately I did not hear from her after I moved to the USA. I was able to visit her once with my two little children and we had a nice holiday. She was not able to come and visit me, because we were not relatives and she could not get a visa to the West.
