Baeaucette Marina...
... this is the only Guernsey marina I have not blipped before. It is well out of town and is actually a disused quarry. It is interesting how it came to be transformed into a marina and if anyone would like to read about it you can do so here.
They have a lovely restaurant on site. We only had coffee today but have decided to go back for a meal soon.
This morning and evening we rang the Town Church bells half muffled for Remembrance Day. I love the mournful sound of half muffled bells, which can be used for any solemn occasion, including funerals, although people often ask that they are rung open as a celebration of the life of the deceased. Bells can only be rung fully muffled on the death of a sovereign and then must immediately after the muffled ringing be rung open to welcome the new sovereign. Many churches have a second set of muffles ready because they are likely to be needed in the foreseeable future.
