Times Of My Life

Sunday Lunch

My niece Zandra came through from Alloa today, with her three children Kaitlyn, Brandon and Kian. We were all meeting up at Mum's, and we decided we'd go out for lunch.

Off we went to Frankie and Bennie's, otherwise known by me as Ben and Jerry's or Tom and Jerry's. Why do you think they quite deliberately chose a name for this chain which is so similar to cartoons or ice-cream?

Anyway, lovely to see them. Wee Kian is two years old next month, and still wearing size 9-12 mths clothes! So tiny, and picking him up is like holding a cushion compared to picking up my bruisers of grandchildren! Beautiful Kaitlyn is a complete delight of a young woman, and her brother Brandon is the gentlest and nicest of boys.

How lucky we are in my family, to have such nice children around us. I had tried to contact my sister to see if she wanted to come too, but never heard back from her. Imagine my surprise to find they were also there having lunch, she and her man, and his daughter with her two wee boys!

Mum enjoyed her day with daughters, grandchild and grandchildren, and after they had gone off home, she and I made a wee detour to the new Aldi's supermarket, and then had coffee in the M&S Foodhall.

OK, it's not the most exciting of Sunday's - but I loved it. And that's the weekend over for another week.
