Sun berries

What a great day! We went birding with our friends and watched a kestrel eating a mouse. A first for all of us. As our friends say, SSV. Soul Satisfying View.

The sun was so bright as it shone on these left over winter berries. Slightly shriveled but still vibrant.

Bird List
- 3 kestrels, 2 male, one female
- chickadees
- lots of Goldeneye ducks, migrating north and the males starting there head-touch-back mating display
- Buffleheads buffling
- Long-tail ducks
- Mallards
- Gadwall
- Red-breasted Mergansers
- Geese
- Mute swans - flying, you could hear their wings churning the air
- Robins, returning, we think

PS. Also saw and heard a cardinal on my neighbour's apple tree singing very softly to itself. Practicing for the coming territorial battles!
