Forbes Library

This is the interior of the public library in Northampton, Massachusetts. After a long lunch with a friend in Amherst at midday, Marylee and I attended the opening reception this afternoon of a three-person photography exhibition at the library. Two of the exhibitors are members of my photography club, the PVPA (Pioneer Valley Photographic Artists).

The library houses the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Library and Museum--Coolidge attended Amherst College across the Connecticut River, and spent many additional years in Northampton, returning there after his presidency. It's far more modest, obviously, than the libraries devoted to our more recent presidents :)
