My Grandfather

Remembrance Sunday today .
This is a picture of my Grandfather Jan Pabjan who was initially arrested by Russians invading Poland from East when Germans invaded Poland from west . He subsequently was taken to a hard , labour camp in Siberia where he saw Russian army soldiers killing many innocent people . When free Polish army , under General Anders was formed in Russia he was released and travelled as Sergeant Major around many prison camps in Siberia rescuing Polish soldiers like him . They then went to Africa , Monte Casino in Italy and eventually to England where they contributed to the so called war effort in WW II , many of them died fighting for our current freedom and wright to be happy . Since the General Anders Army was not sponsored by the Soviet Union many of these poor souls got murdered by communists after the War when they returned to Poland after peace on 9 May 1945 .

My Grandfather stayed in Great Britain and eventually settled in Glasgow where he lived with his Scottish wife and eventually passed away in 1987 after a very active and full of love life .

He was a fantastic human being ,very hardworking and a great Christian . I miss Him enormously and this is my Tribut to Him and many other War Heroes like him .

Lets never ever forget that people died for us , our freedom and happiness .
