Color on a grey day!

Cold, grey, cold, windy, cold. Oh and did I mention that it is cold?!!!

Waterproof trousers and walking boots just for warmth, hat on hood up and five layers on top - only just warm enough. I'd have been fine if I'd been expending some energy but there is a lot of just standing around.

Kayaking was good and a chance for me to move and get a bit of heat! I loved the bright color of them against the grey of everything else. These little things were very skittish and combined with the wind across the lake it was nearly impossible to keep them moving in a straight line. Infact the kids just spent their time spinning in circles! Hehe! Every now and then we had to go and rescue one by grabbing hold of them and paddling a bit so they actually moved forward!

We had a night walk tonight which was another welcome relief to move and generate heat. It was lovely! :)
