Gathering...

Not quite so silvery Tay today. Quiet as a millpond and beautiful reflections, but the clouds seemed to be threatening to dump a load of water on us so we didn't hang about for too long.

Did wonder why the Brits are so hung up on the weather though. Is this a modern phenomenon? Has it got it's roots in activities such as fishing, farming or even in domestic activities such as cleaning and laundry? If it is the latter then why does the love affair with weather forecasting seem to pervade all classes in society? Or maybe it's a much older phenomenon, but then why here and nowhere else? Answers on a postcard please!

Re Yesterdays blip - the baby was not so big! The pins shown were reproduced in the correct size ratio, they really are bigger than my hand. They were not meant for nappies though. They were used to close sacks of oatmeal when it was being transported to an from the mill. Why do I have them? Excellent for transferring knitting onto when you need the pins to do something else - or at least that was the idea. In reality just a cool thing to own!
