It's not widely known that Stan Laurel was English, and fewer still would claim to know that his birthplace is our Ulverston. There are a few nods to him, street names, cafe names and a fine bronze of the comic duo in front of the theatre. But this is my favourite, a mural on the side of 'The Roxy" traditional cinema and home to the local Laurel & Hardy Museum. I've said before that Em doesn't do posing, she does not take direction. So I was very pleased when she assumed an expression similar to Stan's.
