Ad hoc meetings

Despite being a big advocate of the use of technology for distance education/working and communications, there are undoubtedly times when face-to-face gives an additional buzz. This is a really interesting conference - lots of interesting presentations on a wonderfully diverse range of topics, and good discussions. Undoubtedly the best aspect is the ability to (re) meet colleagues and friends and to have impromptu meetings about sparks of shared interests. It is fascinating to people-watch. Small groups of people are gathering and reforming in almost every corner, and intriguing new projects are being born.
